Government Solutions: Who needs identity & entitlement management?
In 2008, Qwest Communications and Route 1 established a strategic partnership to market Route 1’s secure access technology to the U. S. Federal Government. The Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection (CBP) selected Route 1’s technologies.
The initial three-year contract is valued in excess of $2 million and is the beginning of a multi-year implementation that covers the license fees for DEFense Identity Management Network (DEFIMNET®) with the first 500 TruOFFICE™ subscriptions included. DHS has the option to acquire up to 95,000 additional subscriptions for TruOFFICE™ and other Route1 services over the life of the contract on the initial hardware.
The decision to implement Route 1’s identity and access management platform, and subsequent contract award, was made in direct response the current strategy to increase digital security through laptop reduction, and move toward virtualization throughout all levels of the US Federal Government.
