TruOFFICE enables remote access while on the road

Talple International is a pharmaceutical company based on the east coast. Talple’s large sales team is based in their head office and spends upwards of 50% of their time on the road visiting customers. The sales team is currently equipped with a laptop and a VPN account that is used to connect back into Talple’s network to access sensitive digital resources such as client lists, drug descriptions and drug development and testing data.

The Challenge: Secure Remote Access while on the Road

Last month, Maria – one of Talpe’s mobile sales people – had a bit of a scare. During one of her routine sales calls to Omaha, Nebraska, Maria misplaced her laptop for a brief period of time. Although she found the laptop untouched at the lost and found of the taxi company she had used earlier in the day, there was a moment when Maria believed that all of her customer information and Talple’s confidential drug details had been stolen.

Although it was an honest mistake, Maria viewed this experience as an eye opener. She wanted to ensure that a lost or stolen laptop could never be the cause of a data leakage for Talple International. The IT manager has noticed he spends less time troubleshooting remote access related issues since migrating from the VPN.
